Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2026-07-13
This Cookie Policy explains how xronogram and its providers use cookies and similar browser technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, browser file storage, SDK storage, and browser APIs used to maintain a session, complete a requested workflow, remember a choice, measure performance, or report an error.
2. Categories
Strictly necessary
Always active. These technologies are required for authentication, security, anti-abuse, checkout, legal choices, fresh content, and product workflows you request. Disabling them through browser controls may prevent parts of xronogram from working.
Analytics
Optional and off until you grant permission. This category enables aggregated page and usage measurement. It does not use advertising cookies or receive xronogram account identifiers.
Performance
Optional and off until you grant permission. This category enables real-user speed insights and privacy-minimized browser error monitoring.
No Marketing category is active. xronogram does not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
3. Storage and services
Exact provider cookie names may vary as providers update their services. The following table describes the storage and browser processing controlled by xronogram.
| Name or service | Type | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
xronogram_cookie_notice_acknowledged | First-party HttpOnly cookie | Stores the current Cookie Policy version and this browser's Analytics and Performance choices. | Strictly necessary | 180 days, unless replaced earlier by a new choice or policy version |
xronogram_second_view_session | First-party HttpOnly cookie | Maintains anonymous fresh-content and viewing state and supports abuse-resistant view handling. | Strictly necessary | 90 days |
| Authentication storage | First-party authentication cookies | Establishes and refreshes a signed-in session and protects account access. | Strictly necessary | Session and authentication-token lifetime |
xronogram_password_recovery | First-party HttpOnly cookie | Confirms a short-lived verified password-recovery flow. | Strictly necessary | 10 minutes |
xronogram_admin_step_up | First-party HttpOnly cookie | Confirms short-lived administrator reauthentication. | Strictly necessary | 10 minutes |
| Theme preference | Local storage | Remembers a light or dark appearance selected by the user. | Strictly necessary requested preference | Until replaced or browser storage is cleared |
| Claim-resume and notification continuity | Session storage | Resumes an explicit sign-in/claim flow and distinguishes a notification-stream tab. | Strictly necessary requested workflow | Current browser tab session |
| Draft and upload-resume storage | Local or browser file storage | Preserves an in-progress content draft or resumable upload selected by the user. | Strictly necessary requested workflow | Until completion, replacement, deletion, cleanup, or browser storage is cleared |
| Error-monitoring consent mirror | Local storage | Allows browser error monitoring to follow the saved Performance choice. It does not independently grant consent. | Strictly necessary | Until the related choice expires, is replaced, or browser storage is cleared |
| Web analytics | Browser script and APIs; no analytics cookie | Sends aggregated visits and redacted page usage after Analytics permission. | Analytics | Up to 12 months |
| Speed insights | Browser script and APIs; no performance cookie | Sends Web Vitals and related redacted technical data after Performance permission. | Performance | Up to 30 days |
| Browser error monitoring | Browser SDK; no monitoring cookie | Sends privacy-minimized errors after Performance permission. | Performance | Up to 30 days |
Payment, authentication, security, and delivery providers may set their own strictly necessary storage when you invoke those services, such as signing in or opening hosted checkout. Their storage is limited to providing and securing the requested service under their applicable terms.
4. Your choices
On a browser without a current choice, optional Analytics and Performance services remain disabled. You may:
- Accept all to enable Analytics and Performance;
- Reject optional to keep both optional categories disabled; or
- Customize to choose Analytics and Performance independently.
Strictly necessary storage cannot be disabled through xronogram's controls. Most browsers allow you to block or delete it, but doing so may interrupt sign-in, checkout, security, content freshness, drafts, or other core features.
You can review or change the current browser choices at any time through Cookie settings on the Legal page. Withdrawal applies to future browser collection and does not affect processing that occurred before the change.
Choices are browser-specific, including when you are signed in. A new browser or cleared browser storage asks again. For an authenticated user, xronogram also records acknowledgement of the current Cookie Policy version; that acknowledgement is separate from the category choices stored in this browser.
5. Policy changes and re-prompting
We may update this Cookie Policy if our providers, purposes, technologies, retention periods, or legal obligations change. A new version causes xronogram to request a new browser choice before optional services resume.
6. Contact
Questions about this Cookie Policy can be sent to support@xronogram.com. Signed-in users may also use the product contact form.
